introspection
by Zoë Davis
what better way to fold than into yourself? chest over belly over little sausage toes
becoming a ball of all the previous things that are too often overlooked
it makes me wonder, as there is a saying where I come from
I don’t know how to translate, but it goes something like
believe the dog before the letterbox. I think
it is supposed to be about trusting
your gut but looking at it
this close I wouldn’t
trust a word
it growls
